The golden texture, as Quechus said, depends of the shaders of the renderer, for example type of reflection, refraction, bloom, etc; GTA IV has got reflections but no refraction, and the specular is not very good because it is real-time, it would lag the game with those kind of things in the most of the PC´s, and this is the best that I can make without re-rendering the texture in a 3D program like 3D Studio Max because the programs that I know export the texture, the model but not the UVW map so I can´t re-render the texture with the beatiful shader of 3DSM...
Anyway if you play with this skin, the dynamic reflection will make it look more than golden than the pic that I uploaded...

more reflection better gold. seriously guys why you dont understand you cant make real golden weapons only by texture change? you also have to edit the model to be more shinier, if not, its just yellow. no matter what color you pick. Yes, maybe I will modify it some day, but I tried to make it darker and with more saturation but it looked weird, I prefered this version...
Anyway when you are playing, the specular makes it look like gold... Its more yellow than gold my friend. View All Comments | Add Comment |
