This here mod changes around the boxcar found in the game files to make it resemble a proper American boxcar a bit more, such as getting rid of the lights, giving it a realistic color, and adding couplers to it.

NOTE - You're going to have to find a tool to enable this to spawn with your trains. This just doesn't magically spawn out of the box.
