The reason why the couldn't use real names, is due to copyright infringement and i would cost way too much for permission to use all the names, it would e a waste of time and money, and besides it's supposed to be BASED on reality not reality inself, and just to make if funny and enjoyable to the player.

Rockstar is simply too lazy to pay licenses to the original brands, and of course... it will cost Rockstar a fortune!! ... it's easier this way Anyway, we got a nice mod over here!! I don't know why Rockstar has to create all of these make beleive shops in their games, it wouldn't be too difficult for them to texture a Shell Gas Station, a KFC, a Pizza Hut and a McDonalds, a Wal-Mart would have been nice too.

I wish someone would make a COMPLETE real restaurants mod... McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc. Theres a few, but none have ALL restaurants modded. Same goes for Petrol Stations. A COMPLETE Shell or BP would be awesome.
