Now being that this is a new type of vehicle (a submersible) operating it takes a little know how. There is currently no collision file for some of the seabed while in this vehicle so you can sometimes travel below it if your not careful, how ever this is not a bad thing you just lose your submarine but it can cause an undesirable visual effect when driving also so if you see that you are going through the ground then just follow the directions below on how to surface the submarine. By following the directions listed below you should be able to learn how to operate the submarine so that not only will you not travel below the seabed (when you don't want to) you will also be able to climb out of the submarine swim to sea shells and horse shoes and then swim right back into the submarine and drive way.


The submarine starts out floating on the top of the water like a boat. To get into a submarine get into the water, swim over to the top hatch, press your dive button and you should fall into place inside the submarine now just press your get in vheicle button and CJ will hop into the drivers seat.
Play around with the views to find the one you like best (this might change when you get underwater) then hit the gas and your submarine will take off and slowly will begin to submerge. Once fully submerged to a good depth press your get in vehicle button to stand up and from this point you can simply jump out of the sub and it will make cj swim. To re enter the submarine underwater just swim over to it and you should fall into it again, then just push your get in vehicle button and cj will be all ready to go.


To sufrace the submarine if you watch the submarine carefully you will see that the submarine is slowly rising. This is very very slow so but it is rising and is one way to get back to the surface (it just takes forever). If you press the reverse button you will see that this happens much faster putting you back to the top of the water eventually and is the intended way to surface the submarine. Also when steering sometimes left will become right and right will become left but either way steering in any direction will raise the front of the sub driving it towards the surface slightly this is yet another way to surface the submarine or at least an easy way to get closer to the surface to make your swim to shore shorter.


I find that it is much more finesse than skill when it comes to driving a submarine in a GTA game.
