Fortress is a small multiplayer map with a new goal. You have to stay in the fortress as long as possible, while trying to prevent other players from doing the same.
Gameplay
When you are inside the fortress, you receive $100, = and 1 ammo machine gun every few seconds. If you leave the fortress, however, you lose $100, = twice as fast. The player with the most points at the end of the game, or the player who reaches a certain amount of points, wins the game. Make sure the host has set the game to "Points game"!
Level design
The fortress is located in the middle of the map. It is surrounded with a moat which can be crossed at three locations: the two main gates and by jumping a collapsed bridge. The rest of the map consists of a road which runs around the fortress. All weapons are located in the fortress, but all power-ups are located outside. This means it is easy to defend yourself once you're inside, but you'll have to go outside when you lose health.
Aside from the regular weapons you'll also find four bulletproof trucks which can't be pushed out of the way and can be used to block the gates. Vehicle mines, a car bomb and a tank are also located in the fortress to ensure good old-fashioned fun for the whole family. Who dies, spawns outside the fortress.
Installation
To install Fortress, place all files (except the readme and map) in the 'data'-folder of GTA2. This download does not replace original GTA2-files, so you do not have to make a back-up. When you have placed all files in data, you can select "Fortress" in the multiplayer manager. Remember: each player has to install Fortress to play it!
You can play Fortress with up to 6 players. The more players, the more fun!
