Chong's Wheel Packs For San Andreas
17 Wheels Now In This Pack!
 - also includes my Ford wheel pack.

As with all my mods, this is created from scratch using zModeler2

see installation notes below for how to install this mod
(it looks complicated, but its easy if you follow the instructions)

Includes:

GN1 - Rays Volk
GN2 - BBS (not sure of model name)
GN3 - OZ Superturismo
GN4 - Gemballa
GN5 - Ford Cloverleaf

SR1 - Ronal Turbo
SR2 - Borbet
SR3 - Spiess
SR4 - Skoda Dakos A5 Wheel
SR5 - Ford Pepperpot
SR6 - Ford Sierra Sapphire Wheel

LR1 - Eiserne Kreuz (Iron Cross)
LR2 - Pirelli P-Slot
LR3 - Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth Wheel (made by BBS?)
LR4 - Ford RS 4 Spoke Wheel (Escort, Capri)
LR5 - Ford 5 Spoke Wheel that i made to order for a Mr Chasez (Crown Victoria?)

OR1 - An Offroad Wheel designed by me.

The 6 Ford Wheels will be turned into a Ford wheel pack at some point
along with some more wheels to choose from, but for now, they live in here.

All my wheel packs will live together here on this page,
ALL wheels are interchangeable, as long as you have the latest versions of all the packs.
(they all use textures from "chong.txd", so as long as you have that and they are all linked to it, it should work fine)

To swap the wheels around, just swap the names of the .dff files


TO INSTALL THE WHEELS

FIRST MAKE A BACKUP of DATA folder and MODELS folder, just in case it goes wrong...

you MUST follow ALL of the instructions or it WILL not work!

PART 1


Using SPARK [or IMGtool2] carefully DELETE the following 17 files in GTA3.img:

wheel_sr2.dff
wheel_sr3.dff
wheel_sr4.dff
wheel_sr5.dff

wheel_lr2.dff
wheel_lr3.dff
wheel_lr4.dff
wheel_lr5.dff
wheel_or1.dff


next add my 18 files:

chong.txd - THIS IS THE TEXTURE FILE FOR ALL MY WHEELS it is very important!

Using notepad, open "veh_mods.ide" look in your san andreas folder, inside "data\maps\veh_mods".
Find these lines [using number at beginning] [take care, they are not all together in one lump]

replace the original lines with these lines (look at the number at the beginning of each line - there are 17 lines to replace)

Save and close. you are done  


explanation: this bit links my wheel.dffs to "chong.txd":
chong.txd is the file that contains ALL my wheels textures.
without it, they will appear completely white.


instead of replacing the whole lines, you could just replace the word "vehicle" with the word "chong" at the end of each wheel line.
if you are not sure, just replace the original lines with mine, as explained above,
either way, take care not to change anything else in the file...

if you do not add these lines, the wheels will all be white with NO textures!


i do plan to release more wheels for this pack, they will all be interchangeable, as well as interchangeable between packs - as long as you have the latest "chong.txd" file
just edit the names of the dff files if you need to rearrange them - they all link to chong.txd so it should be easy to swap them around.
