Description
- GTA IV Google Map Radar -
Replacement texture map for ingame GPS-navigator (need OpenIV / SparkIV to replace the original files) = Description = This mod replaces dark map from ingame GPS-navigator on a bright and detailed navigation map, which is identical to Google Maps. As a result we get in the game realistic GPS-navigator, which in real life enjoys a sufficiently large number of New Yorkers. Roads and routes ingame navigation system and the modified map are fully compatible. The new navigation system has no data about railroad tracks of the local subway - instead, added icons for subway stations, as it is on real navigational maps Google. Who does not know how to navigate in the local subway can use the city map in the main menu, which is retained in its present form. For create a mod GTA IV Google Map Radar were used materials from GrandTheftAuto.IGN.com. = Installation: = 1. Make backups of the following game files: - "Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\models\cdimages\radar.img" - "Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\textures\hud.wtd" 2. Unpack the archive "GTAIVmod_GoogleMapRadar.rar" and transfer the unzipped directory "pc" to folder with a game Grand Theft Auto IV with replacement files 3. Download and install the latest version OpenIV from http://openiv.com/ 4. Then open it from the catalog "Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\textures" file for editing "hud.wtd" 5. In the open file find the line "radarringback.dds", highlight it and click "Replace". Select the modified file "radarringback.png" from the downloaded archive. Click "Save" and Enter key to complete the operation in a dos-box. If you have a problem too bright radar, change the file "Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data\hud.dat" with the text editor, and search the particular line:[/b]
HUD_RADAR 0.089, 0.720 0.150, 0.197 HUD_COLOUR_BLACK 150
Replace this at:
HUD_RADAR 0.089, 0.720 0.150, 0.197 HUD_COLOUR_BLACK 255
My radar with these settings is not transparent and always on a dark background (see daylight screenshot). Enjoy! :)

This should be the map that everyone uses. It's great to have all the street names! I only wish I could replace the menu map with it! The one flaw I've found is that your highlighted route, if yellow, is very difficult to distinguish from the yellow of the freeways.

Great mod! I respect the time and effort that would've gone into this.

 QUOTE (r.schuindt)
I found a problem. to 12:00 hr the map is so clear that gets to be transparent.
Add a screenshot of your game, please. The fact that I have changed the file "Grand Theft Auto IVcommondatahud.dat" (open in the text editor), in particular line: {{ "HUD_RADAR 0.089, 0.720 0.150, 0.197 HUD_COLOUR_BLACK 150" replace "150" at "255". }} My radar with these settings is not transparent and always on a dark background. But the problem of excessive brightness is the place to be, so in the next version this will be fixed and fixed some small streets (on the original map, instead of some streets - strange gray circles). {{{ See details here! }}}
