OK, FYI, uninstalled gtasa with betas' and reinstalled gtasa without betas'. Went directly to otb Inside Track betting parlor in Montgomery and walked right in with no problems.

Update: When I went to delete and add/replace the last file in the GTA3 folder 'wfycrp.txd', I realized I had been deleting 'vwfycrp.txd' and adding 'wfycrp.txd' again. No problem entering the Inside Track betting parlor now. These tired old eyes ain't what they use to be.

-About the crash on the sex minigames: I'm already in Venturas and yes, the crash happens too with Millie so i can't complete the Casino heist line of missions; but the problem is, the last mission for Salvatore doesn't start either, so main story missions can't be continued. Does anybody know if this happened too in the original SA? I'm sure you dont need to do the heist itself to continue to LS, but maybe yes for the missions before heist?

If you, say accidentally, kill Millie when following her home you will still be able to get the key card and continue.:>;)

Hi all, just a quick update, things are nearly all done! I have now fixed and addressed the following reported problems;-

- Improved and fixed the optional SAMI script
- Fixed a glitch in the 'Vigilante' sub-mission where Police Station radar icons would stay on the map after the mission ended. Also fixed bugs in the mission which could potentially cause the game to crash and not give the correct on screen text for suspects
- The Windsor car now only appears in affluent areas again and the Pizzaboy bike will now only be driven by pizza delivery boys
- Fixed bug in the Bike Rampage that prevented you leaving the bike if it sank in water
- Fixed bug which could cause the game to crash when the Sadler was modified with certain components
- Tweaks to the code which ensures only the correct biker cops appears in the relevant cities - this should improve reliability and stability


Also I have been testing the different installation methods and have found one absolutely definately works way of getting the manual install right - GTA3.IMG is the one that causes the biggest problems, so here's what I did;-

- Use IMG Tool 2.0 by Spooky (available on this site).
- Open GTA3.IMG and delete ALL the files that are going to be replaced by the mod. I found this easier by sorting the files in the archive by filename so I didnt miss any.
- Add the files from the mod ONE AT A TIME - I know this is more time consuming but I got issues when group selecting the files to add as IMG Tool 2.0 'forgot' a couple at times when I did this.
- Rebuild the archive, close it then exit IMG Tool 2.0.

If I remember right, after the 'failed mission you killed millie 'appears, you will get a phone call about breaking into millie's house to steal the key card. I don't think you can kill her during the visits. I had to kill her when using an earlier beta to continue the game.

Great work and advice!! I found you can delete multiple files but must add them one at a time. If you use the 'Find' under edit or 'F2' key there are two files you must hit 'Find Next' or 'F3' key. They are 'Parachute.dff' and 'wfycrp.txd'.

Looking forward to the complete mod release.

OK, I just completed key to her heart. When you have taken everything as far as you can leading up the casino heist, go back to millie and take her on a date and knock her off. You will get a phone call from Woozie asking how it is going with the keycard. Then you can break into millie's house and get it.

-By the way, about the draw distance issue, i've already tried original timecyc and a couple more from "2x" and "4x" draw distance mods, and nothing works, draw distance keeps stuck to lowest, probably higher on better machines if nobody else has noticed it. Seems like default distance (from first start after installing) can't be changed.

Long post ahead… beware! :P

I love this mod so much! SA+TTDISA is now SA for me, and the original SA just a rushed beta. I’m posting now several ideas i always had about SA and that would love to see some of them making their way into future releases of this mod, and i would like to offer DeeZire my small collaboration for whatever could it be used, i cannot code at all, but what i would be able to provide is photoshop stuff (logos, signs, textures and such), studying routes for circuits, positions for markers etc, and provide that in detail by maps, pics and text, write texts for briefing or developing submission stuff, that kind of things.

I’m posting first place the “big” stuff that needs more explanation, and then the small tweaks and changes (keeping always in mind that what i think is an “small tweak”, maybe in fact is a big problem when you really know about coding):

- Parkour (or Freerunning) circuits: I’ve got several beautiful parkour circuits already stablished, using specially rooftops and high places, around 6 for LS and same for SF (i have none for country or desert towns or LV, i’ve been uncapable of finding suitable and cool ones, although i keep trying... ;) ). Each circuit runs around 2 to 4 minutes. I try always the parkour to make good use of “views” and “vertigo” feeling, and specially to be done in some of the more “special” hoods in the cities, with some of that jumps that seem imposible until you make them. I find this parkour circuits really funny and addictive, and they bring that hoods to life and flesh them out a lot by making you know them thoroughly and visit corners or spots you may have not seen. Most part of the circuits is already there in the game, needing only a couple trashcans or air conditioner to make it fully possible on foot ( and not jetpack cheat in that couple spots... ;) ). They would be triggered with floating icons in the beggining point, like rampages, and only need a timer, and several (not many) markers trough the main way. As i’ve seen in the mod that slowmo is possible, would be sweet to see slowmo on the most giant jumps, with the camera showing it from a far side perspective, or from street level perspective looking towards up, to realize how crazy it is, and to insert more the whole experience in that “special” hood. This jumps could even trigger some onscreen text like “you got the balls!” or such. And, if its possible to add to the game some stuff that “makes soft” a too hard landing that would kill CJ (like, say, a truck full of teddys parked down there), some of the parkour routes would end in a giant slowmo final fall, kinda leap of faith. (I even have the names for the circuits, like Rich man’s high, Diablito Carlito or Laundry day). Prize for completing all of them would be a golden wheelchair :P


-Countryside smuggling: Maybe illegally distilled bombshine, or just illegal armadillo meat smuggling... Would be routes in Walton through the country and desert, always through dirt roads, chased by the county sheriff. The idea would be to visit, with an objective, some of the most remote trailer camps, farms, and isolated sacks, in a redneck-cop chaseing style, and make that areas more “alive” into the players mind. Similar to trucker missions but with a careful search of routes and scenarios for starting and ending spots. Maybe a couple of them could be in boat instead of Walton, through the rivers of SA that i feel so missused.

-Film studios stuntman: (Don’t panic! I’m not talking here about “pro” stunting, like the one that GTA’s ultra skilled stunters do, and is impossible for mortal players like myself). I talk about a job as stuntman for “films” of the studio in LS, with 5 or 6 stunts i have searched, that are easy enough for everybody (just may need a couple tries), and quick to do, but at the same time very satisfaying to acomplish and with, i think, a great “woah! Look at me!” factor. They would just need to spawn the player in certain spot with certain vehicle and certain clothing, sometimes with female partner, a text window with the name of the film you are working for and some explanation, and a marker in the position you are supossed to end alive.

-Paparazzi: Once in a Newsvan, and if all the map is unlocked, you would have the option to trigger Paparazzi submission. Would be a line of taking, say, 12 pics, against a timer, throughout the whole state of SA, while you receive after each pic the coordinates for the next spot you need to rush to. You have to be the first in the news business! Stuff would be a train wreckage in the desert, a freeway cars pile, a rescue of an injured guy in the mountain by a heli, a politician cheating his wife in a hotel, a VIP acting drunken and peeing in public, some midnight army secret movement, etc. Some of the pics could bring after you security, or rival paparazzies.


--Now the short stuff:


-Music into burguers and such: Like the music now sounds into the 24-7, or maybe just a radio station (guess CSR would be the most fitting).

-Keep the music during the slomo Unique Jumps: Like it was in GTA3 and Vice, the jumps feel much better.

-Wooden barriers in the broken Palomino bridge, so you can break through them while making the slomo jump...

-Monster always in Torino’s garage after the first mission for him.

-Circuit for the Vortex: A water and sand circuit for the Vortex parked by the damm, in which you would go through upper and lower water areas in the damm and the surrounding desert, using too the wooden ramp for the giant unique jump that hangs high over the damm, that the vortex can “fly” easily (if you don’t flipp...), and some other slomo jumps too. Maybe even getting close to the army area so as to spark a heavy chase on you during part of the circuit (your ability to go in and out water would give you advantage in the chaos)

-A floating ramp on upper water part of Sherman Damm, that would allow to slomo jump in a fast boat over the wall of the damm, and fall on the down water area.

-Enterable Welcome Pump: (The bar in Dillimore where you meet Catalina), i guess part of the interior exists already, would need to complete with a serving bar, redneck waitress and pool table, so as to have a special bar in the country too and not only in the dessert.

-Heli parked below mount chilliad: In the mountain sports area, like a “ flybyes for tourists” thing with a sign explaining that, or whatever. There needs to be some way of getting over mount chilliad quick and not climbing in a car for hours or flying there from SF each time you want to try a new base jump or bike race.

-Croopdusting: A mini mission you can trigger when you take the croopduster parked over the country hill or in the dessert, in which you have to fly low through checkpoints dusting several farms in SA, rivals of your paymaster, not for the health of them but for ruining their production. Rednecks shooting up to you in some of them, and a timer before the cops identify your plane and could blame your paymaster.

-Weaker boxes and fences: In the game, they break easily with a couple shoots, but can stop a truck or combine harverster at full speed on the spot... Its great to have lots of metal fences or wooden ones in the country that you can break through during a chase... but its annoying when all of them feel like hitting a brick wall.

-Spray can AND cam: I always felt like a design mistake in SA that the spray and camera use the same inventory place. You need the can all the time while wandering around in LS at the beggining, and you want the cam to make pics whenever it pops the opportunity. You can carry loads of stupid things, but not can and cam at the same time, sigh...

-On foot cinematic camera: I know many people don’t use the cinematic camera while driving and even say its “useless”... But i’m a true b**ch for the cinematic camera, played GTA3, Vice and SA with this camera 80% of the time, and i really think that HALF of my enjoyment of this games is this camera. I’d love to be able to use it on foot too, watch CJ walking around like in a movie and from a distance, and not just his ass all the time. And this would be sweeet with the parkour circuits.

Very nice mod. The girlfriend minigame bug concerns me though - so I thought that I'd try and help diagnose it via educated speculation... as near as I can tell from looking at the files, a possible reason for the crash could be that the v2.0 gta3.img is missing certain resources that were in the 1.0 (and thereby 1.1) versions - I can't be certain because I don't have a copy of the 1.0 gta3.img to compare file structure with the 2.0 gta3.img, but it does appear that at the very least some of the x-rated girlfriend dff and txd files aren't in the v2.0 gta3.img. As far as I know, the downgrade patches available do not add these resources back in.

If that is correct, then a possible solution could be: since it works on your machine, I surmise that you have the actual v1.0 rather than a downgraded version. My recommendation would be to generate a list of all files in the v1.0 gta3.img, and have somebody with v2.0 do the same with its respective gta.img (I'd be willing to do this for you if you'd like). Then compare the two lists to find out what files are in the older version that aren't in the newer one, and include those files in the mod's release.

As I said, this is speculation on my part since I don't have an original v1.0 gta3.img file to examine. Also, it is possible that the missing file is in one of the other IMG files - possibly the ones that contain the cutscene models or interior resources.

An alternative and less satisfying solution could just be to post two versions of the main.scm - one as is and another with the minigame disabled.

@melolo - couple of those things may make it in yet like the Monster on Torenos garage and enterable Welcome Pump. I am looking at putting a boat race into the game, it really frustrated me that there wasnt one after the fun I had in them in Vice City.

@JC COOP - yep, I suspected this was the problem for those who downgrade. If you can compare the missing files that would be great, I will then include the missing ones in the mod.
